Bike theft is a big problem in inner north suburbs like Northcote, Thornbury and Fairfield where many residents use bikes as their main form of transport.

Northcote Police are holding another public engraving day this Sunday (March 22) from 11am to 2pm, in the carpark behind Northcote Police station (near Coles at Northcote Plaza).

There will also be a free sausage sizzle to entice you along and get your bike engraved.  Identifying your bike this way makes the job of returning it to you so much easier if it is stolen.
