Apartment security

Fire safety is a key concern for high-rise buildings.  Apartment buildings are required to have fire proof doors installed in stair wells and leading into each apartment.

You can also make your apartment more secure from break-in. Using a blocker plate on your apartment entry door will make it impossible for someone to pry open your lock through the gap between the door and the door frame.

Storage areas

Apartments usually have additional storage areas for residents. These are often located in the underground carparks. Although these carparks have access security it is possible for potential thieves to sneak in undisturbed.  Ensure you have a good quality padlock on any storage areas. Don’t leave bicycles or other larger items unsecured.  Put them in your lockable storage area or lock them to something with a good quality lock.

Parking areas

As we’ve said, parking areas are usually secured with an access-controlled roller door. However, you need to make sure that the roller door to the carpark has closed fully when entering or exiting the carpark.
